My 1954 WD 45 tractor runs extremely rough when cold I know these engines always need a little choke to get warmed up but when I apply any choke it s too rich and kills it I just can t seem to get it leaned out to run normal This started when my Dad borrowed the tractor to tow something put it away and it started leaking gas out of it

The serial number of the WD 45 is located on the rear end near the top near I think the left brake housing The 45 was build from 1953 57 It was build in West Allis WI In fact with my father we made a trip to the factory and watched them come off the line The tractor was in our area a full three plow tractor

Mack I think I think you re onto it I came to the same conclusion after thinking about it for a while With the straight solid couplers there would be no give either alignment wise or lengthwise so even the slightest twisting or flexing of the tractor frame would put stress on the torque generator it would be trashed in no time I expect
